Topic
The increaseing availability of technical equipment in our homes and educational institutions and the evidence of advantages for learning processes eLearning becomes more and more popular. Those who tried to learn something with the support of technical equipment experiensed for sure very different outcomes of this kind of learning.
The seminar will try to give answers to questions like: What is eLearning? What kind of equipment is necessary for eLearning? What kind of architecture supports eLearning? Which pedagogical aspects are useful for eLearning? How should the Teacher/Learner setting be? How should an virtual learning environment be constructed?
Aim
Students know about different forms of eLearning and the advantages and disadvantages of different eLearning types.
How will we work
It will be organized mainly as tutored project work with cooperating groups of students from Hamburg, Helsinki and Rotterdam. The project work will be supported by several synchronous seminar meetings. The communication and collaboration will be mainly organised using web-based services like videoconferences, Skype, wikis and weblogs.
Assessment: International credit points or ‘Leistungsnachweise’ can be obtained by contributions to project work for the seminar’s topic. The results of the project work shall be usable as Learning Objects for future students.
A specified Learning-Topic can be used to figure out how eLearning might be useful for this kind of context.
